BASIC COSMETOLOGY - 1500 HOURS
NAME OF COURSE: COSMETOLOGY
The student is enrolling in the Cosmetology course of study, which consists of a total of 1500 hours of Instruction, on a full-time basis, 33 hours per week, and is to be completed in 45.45 weeks. Students are required to remain on the Tuesday - Saturday schedule until all State Board required hours, projects and exams are completed.
Students are allowed 22.7 days (150 hours) of absences without monetary penalty.
The tuition and fees to be paid by the student to the Academy shall be as follows:
- Application fee $ 40.00 ( non refundable)
- Tuition 11145.00
- Kit & Equipment 950.00
- Lab fees 365.00
The tuition and enrollment fees of $12,500.00may be paid by either of the following:
Payment Plan #1 - CASH (to be paid the day of contract signing.)
Payment Plan #2 -Students eligible to receive financial assistance are required to pay the Application Fee of $40.00 and any amount not covered by documented available assistance.
For those Students receiving Financial Aid through the Federal Title IV programs, the following Tuition and Fee Schedule will be followed:
- TOTAL TUITION AND FEES $ 12500.00
- APPLICATION FEE $ - 40.00
- PELL GRANT AID $ - estimate
- STAFFORD LOAN AID / PLUS $ - estimate(due to % of bank fee)
BALANCE $ 0
A Student’s total aid award can only be estimated for his/her second award year at the Title IV component of this enrollment contract will be based on an estimated sum. In the event that the final award(s) is less than estimated based on the actual award(s), the Student should make arrangements using personal funds to satisfy his/her tuition and fees balance that would have been met through Title IV Aid. On the other hand, if the final award is more than estimated the additional Title IV Aid may be applied to the Student’s Tuition and Fees Account and his/her monthly payment will be reduced in accordance with the amount of the higher Title IV Aid award(s). In the event the Tuition and Fees Account has been fully satisfied, the amount of the higher Title IV Award will be refunded to the Student.

The contract length is 1650 hours for the cosmetology course for students attending 33 hours per week. This provides the student with 150 hours grace period without a monetary penalty. However, any student not completing the course within 1650 hours will be charged a $6.50 per hour fee for hours attended and absent until all required 1500 clock hours, progress book and theory examinations are completed. The additional 150 hours are to compensate for illness or emergency situations that may arise during the required 1500hour program. Therefore, our on-time graduation rate for student completing the Cosmetology program is zero percent.

The Academy will assist the student in placement, but cannot guarantee placement. Job Openings for area salons are posted on a bulletin board, which is easily accessible for current students and graduates.
