J. Michael Harrold Beauty Academy, Inc. understands that returning to school might feel like a huge undertaking – especially when you need to find a way to pay for it. That’s why we offer financial aid options for students who qualify. All students are strongly urged to apply for Federal Student Financial Aid. This section is designed to help better understand the Financial Aid and to assist in applying for them.
To apply for your Pell eligibility, follow these 3 easy steps:
1) GET ORGANIZED
- You will need your Federal and State tax return
- You will need you Social Security number, Driver’s License number.
- If you are a dependent student, you will need your parents Federal and State tax return.
If you answer no to all of the following questions, you are considered dependent.
- Are you 24 years of age or older?
- Are you married?
- Do you have children that receive more than half of their support from you?
- Do you support anyone other than your children?
- Are you currently serving on active duty with the US Armed Forces?
- Are you a veteran?
- Are you an emancipated minor?
- Are you in foster care or ward of the court?
- Are you homeless or at risk of being homeless?
You will need to get a pin (personal identification number). If you are a dependent student, your parent will also need to create a Pin to complete the Financial Aid Application. This is your electronic signature. You may sign up for your federal PIN at www.pin.ed.gov
3) FILL OUT FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA)
To apply for your Pell eligibility, you must complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov

You will be attending Full-time
You will be working on a diploma/certificate of less than 2 yrs.
The tuition and fees to be paid by the student to the Academy shall be as follows:
A. Application fee $ 40.00 ( non refundable)
B. Tuition 11,145.00
C. Kit & Equipment 950.00
D. Lab fees 365.00
Total Cost $ 12,500.00
You will be able to apply for a Master Promissory Note (student loan) for any amount not covered by Pell eligibility. Student Loans must be paid back.

Student Loans payments begin 6 months after graduation.
The PLUS Loan is available for parent, if you are a dependent student, or undergraduate students. Payments begin approximately 2 months after student begins the program.
You will need: Verification of completing Entrance Counseling for Student Loans
If you are verified, we will need copy of your taxes and w’2s (if you are a dependent student, you will need a copy of your parents taxes also)
The Medium Loan Debt is $5,875.00 (2009/2010)
